ABOUT CORNERSTONE

Cornerstone Theological Seminary of Nigeria, was born in the year 1983, when I returned from Amsterdam, where Evangelist Billy Graham gathered over four thousand men and women of God, Trained them for Interactant Evangelism.

The Seminary which was born with five students in a small Community of Amaraku in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State has grown to over five hundred students on Campus.

When I was transferred to Owerri, Imo State Capital, the Seminary was moved along with me to No 177 Tetlow Road Owerri, Imo State, where we stayed for two years, and was moved to No 24 Old Market Road Owerri, also we had first graduation at Imo Concord Hotel, where over five thousand people attended.

In 1989, the Seminary was affiliated with Cornerstone University of State of Haweil USA. In the year of the Lord, 1990, DR McKnight who is the founding father of the University, came all the way from United State of America, and graduated two hundred and fifty students, at Imo Concord Hotel, over five thousand people were present to the glory of God the Father.

Many Community and Political Leaders were present, people like RBK Okafor chairman of NPP of Blessed Memory, Governor Mbakwe of the Blessed Memory, Chief Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and other distinguished personalities.

After the graduation, I was asking the Lord where the Seminary will be relocated, with fasting for ten days at the nineth day, God spoke to me to look for a land at Obinze Owerri, ten minutes drive from the City of Owerri.

This time we have moved to No 11 Oduobi Crescent Ikenegbu, where we stayed for four years before we relocated to 24 Onitsha Road Owerri.

It was at 24 Onitsha Road, where Chief Owele Okorocha bought the Building we were renting, we have no choice than to pack up to where we are now, the 15 acres, No 1 Cornerstone Avenue Oforola Road, Obinze Imo State of Nigeria.

In 1987, I visit United States of America; the president of Immanuel Baptist Theological Seminary. 195 Fresher road, Sharpsburg GA, 30277 Peachtree City, Geoging 30269. Dr. James Stewed adopted the Seminary as we affiliated the Seminary with IBTS.

Dr. McKnight the Chancellor of Cornerstone University came to Owerri and graduated one hundred and fifty students, who barged Bachelor of Arts in theology, and 30 students was awarded Diploma and assonate Degrees in Theology, and over seven Nigerian key leads were given the Honoris Causa of Cornerstone University of State of Hawaii. The graduation at Imo Concord Hotel which over five thousand people attended forced us to see the Seminary with another eyes of faith, as we engaged in ten days fasting asking God where to acquire a land for the present site of Seminary. On the 9th day of the fasting, God led me to go to Obinze Community, the suburb of Owerri Imo State Capital, ten minutes drive from Owerri.

The land was miraculously paid for and in the year of the Lord 1999, we began the building project on the 15 acres of land where the Seminary is settled as her permanent home.

Since 1990, we have graduated over three thousand students. 98% of them are in full time, Church Planting in Africa, and over 30 of the graduating are furthering their theological Education in USA, Canada, Europe and Australia. Today, God is helping us growing forever strength to strength.

The Affiliation to University of Calaber is another mile stone of growth and achievement we are indeed grateful to God who granted grace in training that no man should perish and raising up servant leaders to hear God’s voice since 1983.
